Cards For Holiday Gifts

I've been working on some quick cards. I'm getting ready for holiday gifts. I'm putting an assortment of cards to give as gifts this holiday. So I've been working on cards, now I just have to start creating packaging for the cards. Here's a few of the cards I've made.

Have A Great Day!
This is such an easy card. I used Elegant Eggplant for the card base. White cardstock for the card. Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Bliss Blue, Certainly Celery, Basic Black

Stamps: I used one of Stampin' Up's retired solid images (don't remember the name of the set) and a butterfly stamp.

Technique: Masking

All I did was stamp the solid images across the card in the different ink colors, masking as I go. Thenk stamped the butterflies in black ink on the colored images and stamped my saying at the top using black ink. Adhered the white card to the Elegant Eggplant card base. And that was it. Very easy card. You can use with a Birthday sentiment, Get Well and many other sentiments.

Friend Card

This card was super easy! There was no stamping, just a little inking at the top with a sponge and Bliss Blue ink pad. Everything else was from some of Stampin' Up's discontinued DS Paper and Simply Scrappin' elements. The Friend circle was popped up with dimensionals, you can't see that in the picture. And I use a black marker for the dragonfly's travel stitches (as what I call them). Easy Peasy!

Thank for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!

WCMD Challenge #2: Mexico

I made this card to participate in the WCMD Challenge #2 at Nicole Heady's blog. The theme is Mexico. I haven't participated in challenges for quite a while, and this one sparked my interest since I got this stamp from Paper Pretties called Hola Chica. I just love it. 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 size white cardstock. I used Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive cardstock for Chica. I stamped Chica on white cs with black ink. Water colored her and cut her out. The ds paper is from Stampin Up Petals and Paisleys. I use the word punch for the saying - White CS layered behind with Tempting Turquoise.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.

Free Fonts

Good Afternoon everyone. I haven't posted for a bit, I've been making some really cute cards that I'll start putting up here on my blog tomorrow. Taking pictures now. I was at Kristina Werner's blog today and she has her Things I Love Right Now and I found an awesome place to get handwritten fonts.

Exceptionally Useful Free Handwritten Fonts from Tripwire Magazine. I use fonts for my scrapbook pages or my cards when I can't find the rubberstamp I need. I create my own message using different font. These fonts are awesome, I think I downloaded almost all of them. Say I want a saying of Hello but I don't have the right stamp, I just word pick my font type out my saying put my white cardstock in the printer and there you have it, your saying. When I'm doing this, I print out a whole page of different "Hello's" and I'll have them already for me when I'm looking for that saying again. You can space them out on your page so you can use your punches or just block them.

Another great place for fonts is Lettering Delights, these are not free but they are reasonably priced. They do have specials and you can get some of their fonts at a discount or for free.
Take a look and create your own sayings to add to your cards or scrapbook pages.
Well you have a wonderful day. Until next time.

Mini Magazine File Box

I saw these Mini Magazine File Boxes and I just fell in love. I first saw these on Becky Roberts blog for 3 x 3 cards. I wanted to make one for regular size cards 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" so I kept searching . . . . and I found Melinda's blog Sunflower Stamping and she has a tutorial for the 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 box......YEAH!! I just didn't want to resize Becky's myself, just being lazy. I knew someone out there probably already did that. Melinda's tutorial is very easy. So here is what I came up with......

I used Stampin Up Petals & Paisley DSP. I wanted to make my box stronger so I used the white cardboard that comes in the DSP packages (I save all of those, even the cardboard that comes on the back of note pads, they come in handy for craft projects) to make my box and covered the white with the Designer Paper. This made the box more strong and not flimsey. I also used Tombows Multi Purpose Glue and Red Liner tape to make sure it doesn't come apart. And I just added some paper flowers to embellish. I also made some matching cards to go inside. . . . .

These are a few of the cards I made to go inside the box. These are great Christmas gifts to give. I'm going to be participating in some craft sales this fall and I think these would be great to have to sell. Well, this is one of my projects that I was working on this past weekend. I'll post some more later. I went to a stamping class and we made some really cute cards and another bag/box. I'll show that next time. It is really cute, you'll just love it. Thanks for stopping by, until next time.
